Where the #&@! is the record?
Well, we are still waiting for Projekt to recover from the Black
Tape record release and tours. The Pieces Maxi CD is ready to be
printed and will be available as soon as there is money to do so.
We can't offer any exact dates but, I would think it would be in
the next month. Watch this link:

It's done?!?
Yep, the record was finished earlier this month. However due to
Projekt's busy release schedule, you'll have to hold on until November.
The "Pieces" Maxi-CD will be released then, it will feature
two songs from the album, an alternate mix of another song from
the album...and an exclusive bonus track. The LP will follow in
January. Expect some changes around here soon....

The recording is coming into the home stretch!
Its getting closer and closer all the time...Regina is just about
done with her vocals, and almost all of the guitars are done. We
still have alot of frilly little extra things to do to make it more
fun sounding. Oh yeah, and that mixing thing. But it keeps getting
closer all the time!

The recording is ongoing at home...
some of you have been bugging us to do an update...you know who
you are...so...we've been recording for quite awhile now...we've
taken what we did at the studio and brought it home for some further
tweaking. Its shaping up quite nicely, and should be the best record
we've done. I know you all have been holding your breath forever,
but, keep holding it until early this summer...
We
are also playing a show in town at the BetaBar on Feb. 14. It you
can't wait to hear the new songs, you now know where you can hear
them.
Look
at the pictures section for some recording pr0n pics.

We keep writing...
We nearly
have all of the songs for our next record written...its certainly
taken a long time. We've had a few setbacks in our personal lives
to keep this from being a timely process. But, what we have is nearly
completely written, so that we can just whip in down onto a recording.
We have recorded a few demos of this ourselves, but have ultimately
come to the conclusion of going to record this record in Panama
City, FL at JJ Crews's Boogie
Tracks. The place has a nice sound and nice equipment, and we
are serious about making this album great. So its only natural we
do it this way. Musically, the songs are different than anything
that we've ever doen before, but there will still be alot of familiar
Mira left. We start recording here on the 9th of August. Unfortunatly,
this means the release date is has been pushed back.

Yes, we are still here.
We have been busy recording for an upcoming release.
Here's a few words from Regina about the tour:
hi! this is regina from mira. i just wanted to share a few thoughts
about our recent tour that took us around the country... well, the
short response is that it was absolutely wonderful!! as a longer
response, i will say that because it was a wonderful experience,
it was a great success in my eyes. we left on august 15th, and it
took a few days of emotional adjustment to ease into what would
for the next 3 weeks be our life on the road. there were 7 of us
(thank you julie todd and dave hatos) in a pretty damn comfortable
(thank god!) conversion van we bought (at a great price) the week
before we left, and had all of our equipment and luggage in a U-haul
trailer hitched to the back. we met a lot of really nice people
along the way -- generous people that opened their hearts and homes
to us and made us feel right at home wherever we happened to be
staying.
and the shows, they were an experience unto themselves. it took
awhile, but i was finally able to accept the fact that every show
was not going to necessarily be my "best" ever, but that
each one was a learning experience. the best i could do was to give
everything i had each time we went on stage, and hope that the energy
and emotion carried through to the audience. what an amazing experience
it is to be submersed in the activity you enjoy most in life --
for over 3 weeks my only job was to keep myself healthy and perform
the best i could each night on stage. and let me tell you, once
you've tasted that kind of life, it is hard to go back to the "other" life (i.e. day job). and yes, i was in post-tour depression for
quite some time afterwards.
we learned a great deal about each other and ourselves. i wouldn't
trade the experience for anything. plus, we had the most kick ass
show the night we returned home to tallahassee. i was amazed at
how comfortable i felt on that same stage on which i had once felt
so insecure and out of place. i guess 3 weeks of playing shows will
do that to you! we all came home friends, too, which came as a surprise
to some, i think. as for now, we are taking a break from playing
out and are back in the "studio" to write more songs and
do some recording. i look forward to going back out again though...
thank you to everyone who attended our shows, drove how ever long
to see us, bought merchandise, and simply took to the time to say
hello and let us know you were out there. kind words go a long way,
and kept our spirits up whenever they started to sag from the weariness
of the road. thank you again for helping us make this a reality.
until next time.....

Ok,
so we've been back for two weeks.
I've been holding off on makeing updates until I get the mailing
list typed in. Well, I'm too slack to get that done in any amount
of time. So, for now, here's a note from Tom about how the tour
went....this will go out on the Projekt Email list tomorrow:
Hello,
this is Tom from Mira.
Its been about two weeks since we've been back from our tour, and,
even though it was alot of work and stress, we all miss being on
the road. The responses we got from the audiences were always good,
even at places where nobody had heard of us. There was always at
least one person who came up to us and said how much they enjoyed
the show. Now, for many "indy" bands, that isn't too common.
We must be doing something right! These comments are nearly reward
enough for the effort.
We played all types of venues...from very tiny and awkward bars
to giant, rock-star theater stages not unlike the stage at Projektfest.
We even played in the backroom of a small record store. Crowd size
varied from 5 to 400, but was never a letdown. Do I sound overly
optimistic? Really, if you get to know me, I'm a HUGE pessimist
and complainer, but, really, it wasn't a letdown. So, it must be
the truth if I put it this way.
God, touring with LoveSpirals was completely awesome. As a Projekt
fan before Mira was around, I've always wanted to hang out with
Ryan Lum and shoot the shit. After the show in Seattle, we all got
the chance to chill out and have a few drinks and talk. Ryan and
Anji are super-cool people and we all had a great time hanging out
together.
We also got to hang out with Audra for a night in Phoenix. Now,
those guys do know how to throw down. Heh...I'd like to spend more
time with those guys. We got to meet them at Projektfest, and got
to see them in their own element in Phoenix. We'd never seen Audra
play as a complete band, and they are much more intense with the
full setup.
Anyway, the tour went off without incident, and we got to play some
really great venues and meet a ton of cool people, not to mention
friends and family. The people who were especially cool were the
ones that let us stay at their houses. I gotta give some shout-outs:
What up Jodi, Matt and Justin in Houston, David and everyone in
San Antonio, Audra in Phoenix, Matt Davidson in LA, Cedric and everyone
in Portland, Amanda and roomates in Seattle, SLC, Mom Davidson in
Chicago, Mom and Dad Sosinski in Myrtle Beach!!! Thanks a ton!

Projektfest
was really fun!
All of the bands played great shows. It was really cool to meet
and party with everybody. It was nearly exhausting! Oh, and, we've
had enough Chinese food that anybody would want to eat for a year.
So,
we have another show coming up:
06/15/02
Atlanta, GA -- The Earl -- w/ Martyr & Pistol & Skating Club
Our
tour has been postponed a few weeks, so that it will be
in August/September...and it may be long enough to include some
midwest dates...more soon
If you would like to book us, send an email to:

Man,
Projektfest
is this Friday!
I remember hearing about Projektfest while
listening to Love Spirals Downwards at a friend's house in 1996.
It was far away, in Chicago...1000 miles too far from Tallahassee.
That was just before Mira even began as a casual living-room jam
session. I never thought I would actually play it.
But here we are, plane tickets in hand, rehersing for Projektfest.
Whoa...
If
you don't already have tickets, they can be purchased at the door.
The show is at the Trocodero
in Philedelphia.

Hey,
thanks for the overwhelming response about places to
play on our tour. We are still deliberating over a schedule,
but we now have much better information than we previously did. Thanks!
Anyway, I wanted to remind you about
Projektfest 2002. We are playing Friday, May 24th at the Trocadero
in Philadelphia.
get tickets at:
It may be some time before
we come back to that region again. So try not to miss it.

We have some new shirts available!

Its
been awhile...but there are things beginning to happen:
We are playing some shows in Tallahassee
soon:
03/23/02 Tallahassee, FL -- Cow Haus
-- NORML benefit
with SNMNMNM, Overlords of the Underworld, Mesh STL
& Dug Budder
04/12/02 Tallahassee, FL -- Cow Haus
--
with
David J. (from Bauhaus/Love and Rockets) and Mistle
Thrush
The first one will be a quick set,
since there are so many bands playing...
The second one is still sorta tenative.
We also *may* play a few regional shows
in early May with the band 27 from Boston.
The big show is Projektfest
2002 in Philadelphia on May 24th.
It'll be a nice thing for you westerners
to hear, that we are finally beginning to plan our west coast tour!
We've been promising it for years now,
and we are finally coming through. We are looking at starting
in New Orleans, hitting Texas and Arizona, LA and San Fran, Portland,
Seattle, Denver and places in between. Hell, maybe you can
convince us to extend it through Chicago.
This is supposed to happen in late
July/early August.
Let us know what you think.
What cities should we play?
What venues are cool? What booking agents are flakey?
send your comments to:
or, if you do booking, contact our

Other crap:
We found out recently that "Open in
Silence" and "Space" are appearing as background music in the new
season of the Real World.
Interesting.
Hey, the royalties will pay for our
tour!
And as always, we are writing new material. If you come to one of the shows you may hear some of it.
Speaking of which, we sorta made a
guesstimation to our label about when the next record will be out.
We are giving a very vague Spring 2003 completion date. So,
maybe Summer 2003 for release?
So, thats probably the longest mira
update in history.
Come to one of our shows.
Buy our CDs.
Thanks for doing one of the above or
both.
thanks

Hey,
so, we are cancelling our show with Argentina on December 1st.
Regina
has been very ill this past week, so we think it best that we allow
her to recouperate.
Also, Mark got clobbered in the pit at the Pigface show last night,
and his tailbone needs to re-form, so no jumping up and down for him
in at least a week....
Sorry to punk out.... |

Hello
- this is Regina!
I just wanted to thank everybody who has purchased our CDs, come
to our shows, and expressed their positive support through the many
emails we get. They really do bring us a boost of confidence, and
we thank you for the time and thought that goes into those messages.
We are really excited about our upcoming tour along the east coast.
We have a lot of shows packed into a short amount of time (and a
lot of miles!!). We are looking forward to playing shows in different
cities and for new audiences....it's still hard to believe it's
actually happening! Thank you again for the continuous support.
We really appreciate it, and we hope to see you up the coast! |

more when we come back on August 1st when we start our tour in a
about a week. We will be playing all different songs at this show,
so please try to make it... |
